Spotlight on Himalayan infrastructure projects

Environmentalists are questioning the viability of large infrastructure projects in the Himalayan mountains after part of a glacier collapsed onto a hydroelectric dam in northern India on February 7.
At least 58 people are dead and nearly 150 missing in the Rishiganga valley – most were working on hydroelectric power plants.
Activists say further development, coupled with climate change, could be a recipe for more disasters.
