elarusian security forces detained dozens of protesters on Saturday as people gathered for another day of demonstrations in Minsk, against President Alexander Lukashenko.
Belarus, a former Soviet republic closely allied with Russia, has been rocked by mass street protests since Lukashenko declared victory in an Aug. 9 vote which opposition leaders have claimed was rigged.
He has dismissed opposition accusations of mass arrests and abuses as a Western smear campaign.
Lukashenko was sworn-in for a sixth term on Wednesday in a ceremony that prompted thousands to take to the streets in protest.
