Trump ‘won’t agree’ to election results

US contributor Michael Ware says President Donald Trump likely won’t accept defeat in this year’s election should he lose.

“Because this is going to be the coronavirus election, and a lot of people are going to apply to vote by mail, absenting votes, it seems the President is setting that up as a means to discredit the final result,” Mr Ware told Sky News.

“The polls across the board show him behind former vice-president Joe Biden by double digits.”

This comes after Mr Trump did an exclusive interview with Fox News, where interviewer Chris Wallace showed poll numbers revealing Mr Biden ahead.

Mr Trump claimed them as “fake polls” and that he was not losing.

“Most Americans don’t trust Trump to be able to handle the coronavirus, only 34 per cent have faith in him,” Mr Ware said.

“Trump claims he has more right than anyone, but he’s making these claims on the same days that dozens of hospitals in Florida don’t have any ICU beds, and Arizona just had its highest single day of deaths.

“60,000 to 70,000 Americans are catching coronavirus every day, and yet the President is still out there trying to pretend that his administration is on top of it.”
