One of the most beautiful drives in Canada is now the scene of a tragedy. Three people have been killed, 14 are fighting for their lives in hospital after a tour bus rolled over in Jasper National Park. The custom designed sightseeing bus was driving the Columbia icefields, located approximately 100 km south of Jasper, AB. There were 27 people aboard the big rig ice explorer as it travelled from a visitor centre along the side on highway 93 when it rolled down an embankment. Jayme Doll is tracking developments from the site of the rollover.

Bloc Quebecois leader Yves-Francois Blanchet hit back against an anonymous sexual misconduct allegation dating back to 1999. Blanchet said Sunday he has never acted the way that is being alleged and claimed the allegation was politically and ideologically motivated. He affirms he is not going to step aside as leader of the party.

The debate surrounding face masks and forcing people to wear them continues to swirl tonight. As COVID-19 continues to spread, the approach is different from province to province and there is a mixed reaction right across the country. While the majority of Canadian understand the reasons for wearing masks, today a movement against mandatory face coverings held protests in major city centres across the country. Julia Foy has more.

U.S. President Donald Trump says he’s against making Americans wear face masks in public despite a surging death toll in his country which is far out pacing estimates. More than 140,000 Americans have now died from COVID-19 and close to half a million people tested positive in just one week. But now the president claims those statistics are false. Jennifer Johnson reports.

Even in the U.S., the top food producing country in the world, COVID-19 is fueling a hunger emergency. Food insecurity has nearly doubled during the pandemic. And it is even worse for racialized Americans and children. Federal relief benefits have barely covered the basics and as Reggie Cecchini explains, those funds are about to run out.
