Shocking Lives is a three-part documentary series from Barcroft, leaders in the production of factual content for TLC, Discovery and Channel 5, which aims to peel back the curtain on some very different lives.

From the shocking “The Grandmother Lovers”, which follows young men who only date elderly women, through to the uplifting “The Women with the World’s Biggest Hips” which looks at four women who celebrate their unique physiques, and to the emotional “The Boy with the Giant Hands” which tells the story of eight-year-old Kaleem who suffers from gigantically swollen hands and has been excluded from his local community, this is documentary making with a difference.

Factual rather than sensational, Shocking Lives takes these unusual experiences and recasts them in a new light, showing us that love and hope can be found in the most unexpected of places and allowing audiences to view the subjects in a new perspective.
