Police in Israel arrested 12 people in Jerusalem on Sunday during protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and physically moved others from a junction near his residency following demonstrations calling for his resignation.
The protests began Saturday over alleged corruption by Netanyahu as well as his government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some 15,000 protesters arrived at Netanyahu’s state residence in Jerusalem carrying banners calling him a “Crime Minister,” and calling for his resignation. It’s reported to have been the biggest in a weeks-long weekly demonstrations against him, with other protests taking place in Tel Aviv and outside his private home in Caesarea.
