Travellers from France entering the UK will have to quarantine for 14 days, the British government has announced.

It follows a rise of 66% in coronavirus infections in France in just one week. The UK Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps, says the new rule will come into effect from Sunday morning.

The current rate of infection in France is 32.1 cases per 100,000 people. The UK by comparison has 18.5 cases per 100,000.
