New wildfires sparked over the weekend in California, creating more flames for firefighters to battle as the state deals with approximately 23 major fires, according to Cal Fire, with flames being seen Monday morning burning near two communities.
The El Dorado fire near San Bernardino, Calif. which started Saturday, is believed to have been started due to a gender reveal party in San Bernardino County after a smoke-generating pyrotechnic device was used. The fire has since burned about 12 square kilometres.
The Bobcat fire began Sunday afternoon near Azusa, Calif. and has seen about 100 firefighters fighting the flames, which has burned about 1,800 acres of brush and timber by that evening.
