Filipino teachers invent book disinfection device to help protect pupils and staff from Covid-19

Schoolteachers in the Philippines have invented a book disinfection device to help protect students and staff from coronavirus infections. Instructors at Ragay Science and Math Oriented High School in the province of Camarines Sur demonstrated their machine on October 7, 2020. Schools remain closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but online learning classes resumed on October 5. Pupils in remote areas without internet access are getting books and materials distributed from schools by teachers, who hope the disinfection device can be used to minimise the chances of any coronavirus hitching a ride.
