Ryu Sera thought her dreams had come true in 2010 when she made her debut with K-pop girl band Nine Muses. But four years later it was all over when her management company sacked her in a band reshuffle. In 2020, Sera’s been speaking out against the K-pop system in which a tiny minority of people ever make it to stardom. She’s also been given a rare second chance and will star in a new weekly televised singing contest where the performers are all failed and once-famous idols. It comes with a twist, none of the 7 participants will be eliminated and every week whichever singer gets the highest points from the judges will have their song released as a single with the artist sharing the profits.
