Donald Trump has announced this morning that he and his wife Melania have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Mr Trump and his wife were already quarantining ahead of their test results after Hope Hicks, who regularly travels with the President on Air Force One, had tested positive.
Julie Norman, lecturer at University College London’s Centre on US Politics, believes that the news could alter the view of the virus in the eyes of some of the president’s supporters.
Ms Norman thinks it will affect not only the campaign but says it “certainly will” also affect the results of the election itself.
