Budhia Singh is a former Indian long distance runner who became notable for his athletic feats as a child. He has been acclaimed as the world’s youngest marathon runner.
The Boy Who Can’t Stop Running tells the story of Singh’s journey from being sold for $20 to a peddler by his poverty-stricken mother to being bought back by local judo coach Biranchi Das, who soon discovers the boy’s immense running talent. Das wants to make the most of Singh’s abilities and develops increasingly ambitious plans for him, including a series of half-marathon races and a 70K ultra. Critics and child welfare officials lead Das and Singh into a media firestorm.
