Anti-Putin protests in Russia’s Khabarovsk spread to other cities

Calls to free an opposition governor from jail have swept across the far-east of Russia and beyond. Protesters are accusing the Kremlin of abusing its power by punishing a political rival while also overturning their vote. Tens of thousands of people are calling for President Vladimir Putin to step down and demanding the release of the regional governor, Sergei Furgal. For the fourth straight week, people in Khabarovsk have demonstrated for change.
