When the Olympics kick off in Tokyo after a year of pandemic postponement, they’ll look and sound different than the games of years past. A new handbook of do’s and don’ts for the games states that there should be no “unnecessary forms of physical contact such as hugs or high-fives, or handshakes,” which means teammates will have to celebrate differently. Fans are told to support athletes by clapping, instead of cheering, singing or chanting. Athletes are also responsible for their own masks.
