Worldwide coronavirus death toll nears 2 million

The world is about to hit 2 million deaths from Covid-19. The global tally from Johns Hopkins University on January 15, 2021, showed that the coronavirus killed more than 1,988,290 people. Meanwhile, the virus keeps on spreading with over 92 million cases reported globally. Many countries, including the UK, Brazil and South Africa are dealing with widespread outbreaks partly driven by mutated strains.
