It’s been just over a week since two explosions tore through the city of Beirut – killing some 200 people, injuring thousands and pushing Lebanon into a deeper political crisis.

The government has stepped down and an official investigation is ongoing. But among the questions left unanswered: why was ammonium nitrate unsafely stored at the port and why did it explode?
