US border patrol agents have reported a surge in migrants along the country’s southern border with Mexico in January as people who waited out the Trump presidency on the other side of the border begin to cross.
President Joe Biden has announced a pivot away from the hardline anti-immigrant policies of the Trump administration, but the details of that and how new policies will affect those migrants crossing today, remain to be seen.
