UK COVID-19 alert level downgraded

The UK’s chief medical officers have revealed that the country’s COVID-19 alert level has been downgraded, with the threat of the NHS being overwhelmed receding.

However, they warned against complacency stating that transmission rates, hospital pressures and deaths are “still very high”.

Moving from level five to four means that transmission is now “high or rising exponentially”.
