Typhoon Ulysses batters Philippines with massive floods

Heavy winds and waves batter the coastal areas of Polillo, Lopez and Quezon as typhoon Ulysses, also known as Vamco, hits the eastern coast of the Philippines

Authorities ordered thousands of families to evacuate the east coast ahead of the typhoon making landfall.

The Philippines’ 21st tropical cyclone in 2020 made landfall with maximum sustained winds of 155 kph (96 mph) near the center and gusts reaching up to 255 kph (158 mph), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)
