‘Significant disruption’ expected at UK-EU border over Brexit

Businesses are being told to prepare for “significant additional disruption” after reports of lorries being delayed and refused entry at ports following Brexit.

A growing number of retailers and courier firms are suspending or cutting back deliveries into the EU as companies grapple with new border controls as well as import taxes.

Fish is being left to rot in Cornwall because of a shortage of vets to certify them for export, while Marks and Spencer’s famous pink sweets are now subject to an import tax in Ireland.
