Pompeo foreign tour in Turkey: US diplomat skips Ankara

The US’s secretary of state is in Turkey as part of a 10-day tour of the region.
But Mike Pompeo will not be meeting Turkish politicians or officials.
Ahead of his visit to Istanbul, Pompeo told the French press he agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron that Turkey’s recent actions have been aggressive.
He cited Turkey’s recent support for Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Armenia, as well as its military moves in Libya and the eastern Mediterranean.
