Crowds of New Yorkers gathered in lower Manhattan on February 27, 2021, to protest against anti-Asian hate crimes. Just two days previously, a 36-year-old Asian man was stabbed in the back a block away from where the rally took place. The suspect was arrested and charged with hate crimes, among other offences. The incident was the latest in a string of violent attacks against Asian-Americans in the US.
