Eight Michelin-starred chefs have teamed up with the charity organisation Feeding Hong Kong to help pack festive food bags for the underprivileged ahead of Lunar New Year. The chefs also experienced what life is like for many low-income families who live in cramped, subdivided flats, as they cooked in tight spaces with limited ingredients. According to the charity, around 3,600 tonnes of food waste ends up in Hong Kong’s landfills every year, while more than one million people in the city live below the poverty line and struggle to afford nutritious meals.
