John Fitzgerald Kennedy, often referred to by his initials JFK – the youngest man elected to the office – served as the 35th president of the United States from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963. He faced a number of foreign crises, especially in Cuba and Berlin, but managed to secure such achievements as the Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty and the Alliance for Progress.

Also includes an interesting film produced by the United States Secret Service in 1964, entitled “Assassination Of President John F. Kennedy”.

The 21-minute film is narrated by Jim Underwood, who was riding in the motorcade in Dallas, Texas, when President Kennedy was killed on November 22, 1963. Underwood, in 1963 and 1964, was the assistant news director for KRLD-TV and KRLD-Radio in Dallas.

This film utilizes much of the silent motion picture footage that was shot by the Secret Service just a few days after JFK’s assassination in late 1963, plus some still photographs from the reconstruction film that was made by the FBI in May 1964 during the Warren Commission’s investigation into Kennedy’s death.

A new series featured only on this channel — bringing to life with vivid recreations and sound — a short biography / profile of the men who have been occupied the office of President of the United States and their rise from “Politics to Power”… Each segment will focus on an individual President and his times and accomplishments… or perhaps the story of a President and his successor.
