A group of pro-democracy activists from Hong Kong are facing another night in Chinese detention after a mainland court gave no verdict on the first day of their trial.
The group is accused of fleeing the former British territory to avoid jail sentences and illegally entering Chinese waters.
Their families say they have been denied any information, describing their treatment as “inhumane”.
Al Jazeera’s Sarah Clarke reports from Hong Kong.
