Final Heathrow’s 747 plane flight for early retirement as fans give social farewell

The much-loved jumbo jets will eventually be broken down for spares, having seen its retirement brought forward by several years because of the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on British Airways.

The aircraft will head to Wales, joining the rest of the retired fleet.

The ‘Queen of the Skies’ has been involved in many iconic moments, in service from the 1970’s to a recent flight from Dallas, including bringing home England’s Rugby World Cup winning side in 2003 from Australia and New Zealand.
