Dr Anthony Fauci, America’s top health official, has told Sky News the UK was not as careful as the US in how it approved the Pfizer vaccine.
He said the US approval mechanism was the global ‘gold standard’ and warned that any doubts over the safety of the vaccine would increase scepticism towards the jab.
