Tonight’s top story: New targeted restrictions are on the way for some Alberta regions in hopes of bringing spiking COVID-19 cases under control. Indoor group fitness classes and team sports are prohibited for two weeks, while restaurants and bars are being told liquor sales must stop by 10 p.m. Heather Yourex-West outlines the new tighter restrictions.

New modelling from Ontario highlights a concerning upward trend in COVID-19 cases, with the data suggesting the province could be headed towards daily numbers upwards of 6,000 cases by mid-December. The projections are dire and yet Premier Doug Ford says the economic risks of another lockdown are too great. Eric Sorensen reports.
