Police in Hong Kong have threatened to arrest anyone who attends the 32nd annual Tiananmen Square massacre vigil after the organiser was detained.

It’s the second year running that authorities there have banned the gathering in an attempt to shut down pro-democracy activism in the city.

The vigil commemorates the military crackdown in June 1989 which led to hundreds of deaths.
