Hellish planet discovered coated in magma ocean with supersonic winds, rock rain

On a distant planet hundreds of light-years from Earth scientists have discovered a true hellscape where a magma ocean coats the surface, ferocious winds blow at more than 5000 kilometres per hour and rock rains from the sky.

On the planet called K2-141b the surface, ocean, and atmosphere are “all made up of the same ingredients: rocks”.
