Democrat-led House strips Marjorie Taylor Greene of committee assignments

The US House of Representatives has voted 230 to 199 to remove Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene from two committees over past controversial and conspiratorial remarks.

Democrats and 11 Republicans approved the resolution which takes away her assignments on the House Budget Committee and the House Education and Labor Committee.

Representative Greene expressed regret for some of her past comments ahead of the vote.

“I never said any of these things since I have been elected for Congress,” she said.

“These were words of the past and these things do not represent me, they do not represent my district and they do not represent my values.”
