Polish lawmakers brought protests to Parliament on Tuesday against the near-total ban on abortions in the country which was ruled last week.
Opposition lawmakers held up placards with the words ‘This is war’ and ‘Legalise abortion’ while circling the ruling Law and Justice party benches. Some members then linked arms to prevent security from stopping the protests.
It comes after five days of huge protests across Poland on the matter, where thousands of people have been marching to overturn the ruling.
Abortions were ruled illegal except in cases of incest, rape, or threat to the mother’s health.
