Four dogs trained to sniff out coronavirus infections have been working at Helsinki airport since September 23, 2020. Researchers say the animals can detect Covid-19 infections in seconds with nearly 100 per cent accuracy, even among asymptomatic patients. The state-funded pilot scheme has allowed Finland to become the world’s second country after the United Arab Emirates to deploy sniffer dogs to detect Covid-19.
